The company was formed by Owen Barrett and Craig Robertson after the software developed for Clyde Valley Drilling won several major awards and generated interest from local businesses.

The original CVD software was developed after much research looking for solutions to everyday business issues. These solutions were available, but at that time, were only cost effective for large corporations and were supplied by companies with ornamental carp lakes at the front entrance.

CVD now say that if they had found this software in 2004, they would not have had to invent it.
